Stop the Stereotyping of Cheerleaders

Saturday September 5, 2009

Airheads, ditzy, dumb blondes, snobs, and the list goes on... cheerleaders have heard enough. If you've ever cheered (and even if you haven't) chances are you've probably heard them all. And those are just a few of the typical comments made about cheerleaders. Why can't an activity that is so full of hard work, determination and dedication get the respect it deserves?

That’s so true! Before I became a cheerleader, I used that stereotype! I still wanted to be a cheerleader anyways, but i’d think of them that way — ditzy, blonde, super-skinny, snobby, popular…it’s awful the way people treat others. I want the taunting to stop.
