The Reason I Compete
Cheerleading Poem Submitted by Catherine Nicole Yudin.

The Reason I Compete
by
Catherine Nicole Yudin

3 hours of practice,
3 times a week;
Just for the chance to go on and compete.

Taking the floor,
feeling the rush;
Hoping the butterflies will soon be crushed.

Our tumbling, our dance,
our smiles galore;
Feeling the pressure out on the floor.

It's done, all over,
3 minutes have passed.
The judges have judged,
it's all in the past.

As the first place title is about to be announced,
You pause and think;
3 hours of practice,
3 times a week
All worth the National Championship title, now at our feet!
