Interview with Nina, an XFL Cheerleader with the Orlando Rage

I recently had the opportunity to do an interview with Nina, an XFL Cheerleader with the Orlando Rage football team. When you read the interview, I think you will see this talented woman is not only beautiful, but she is intelligent and an experienced performer. She is proud to be a Cheerleader and has cheered most of her life.

The Interview:

Cheerleading Guide: What is your background in dance, cheerleading, or gymnastics?
Nina: I Began taking ballet in elementary school after my mom took me to see the Nutcracker for Christmas (Nina Ballerina :-D) -Then started tap and Jazz classes in the 5th grade. In Jr high I was one of 8 Cheerleaders, then in my 3 yr high school program I was one of 6 sophomore Cheerleaders, then one of 12 Varsity Cheerleaders in my Junior year, and finally my senior year I switched to one of 16 Pom Pom Dance Line girls because I wanted to dance more. On the same day as my high school graduation, I flew to Memphis, TN, to train as on of UCA's instructors under the Universal Dance Camp category (UDA) and taught dance camps across the USA.

Then I began cheering professionally, after that summer of teaching, for the NBA Denver Nuggets as a Co-ed Cheerleading squad. I also judged Cheerleading competitions in Colorado and choreographed a few 1/2 times for the Nuggets and one for the Broncos. The next few summers in College I sang and danced at Disney as an All American College Dancer Kid of the Kingdom, performed one summer in Rye Beach, NY and then traveled and danced on Royal Caribbean -- all during college, after I graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in communication - (We didn't have minors at that school, but if we did, mine would have been dance/musical theater). I cheered professionally for the NFL New England Patriots because I moved to Boston near my parents. Then I moved south to sunny warm Orlando and danced professionally for the NBA Orlando Magic Dancers. And now I'm happy to say I've graduated to the XFL!!!

Cheerleading Guide: Why did you decide to tryout to be an XFL Cheerleader?
Nina: As an entertainer and one who has such respect for the art of Cheerleading and dance, I was very excited to see a new professional team in Orlando and something new and fresh in town.

Cheerleading Guide: . What plans do you have for the future? How will being an XFL Cheerleader help?
Nina: Absolutely-- I plan on recording a CD with original female vocals, and in entertainment, being seen and active is the key to staying active-- Newtons Law of Physics-- A body in motion stays in motion-- A Body standing still stays standing still, Right?
