Interview with Nina - Continued

Cheerleading Guide: Most professional Cheerleaders have other careers, do you?
Nina: Yes, I'm currently working on my music, perform part time at Disney, and am learning how to be a magicians' assistant for a new show opening in May on Int'l Drive in Orlando.

Cheerleading Guide: I understand the XFL rules allow you to date players, would you consider dating a player?
Nina: I'll just say that if any 2 people should be so lucky to find each other in the vast planet Earth, then Bravo to them!!!

Cheerleading Guide: A lot of school Cheerleaders don't think professional Cheerleaders are "real" Cheerleaders, do you have a comment about that?
Nina: I Suppose that comment would depend on the person's definition of Cheerleading. Because professional ice skaters certainly have a different regiment then school competition ice skaters. And Cheerleading today encompasses many skills-- not just yelling team spirit, but also dance, gymnastics, stunts, personality, and community sharing. High school Cheerleaders tend to be funded by their parents or fundraisers, and professional Cheerleaders, for the most part, have to make a living with a different job, since most professional Cheerleading positions in leagues besides the XFL do not earn much of a salary to even pay for gas and lunch.

Cheerleading Guide: What advice would you give a young women that wants to tryout to be a professional Cheerleader?
Nina: If you want to be a professional Cheerleader, preparation is key, because for the most part, the prepared person increases their chances of presenting their personal best. Definitely try to take active classes like dance classes or workouts at the gym to increase stamina. And let your own unique beauty and personality shine-- That is so important. And if you dream it-- then keep trying and be persistent, knowing it sometimes takes a few trys.

Cheerleading Guide: How do you feel about the stereotypes of Cheerleaders?

Nina: I Love it-- Because if entertainment is a way that can help people escape from the rigors of their week and had a cheerful time (no pun intended) or take their minds off of daily stresses, even for just the duration of a football game/telecast, then we've accomplished something special. Most important, the people who know most of us Cheerleaders personally do know that we are people who care and are real and well rounded-- and that is substance that matters to me personally.
