"Who made
it? Who didn't?"

You've
worked and practiced for months to fulfill your dream of being a Cheerleader.
Tryouts are over and you just found out you didn't make it - How do you
handle the disappointment?
It is sometimes hard
to be a gracious loser. Your feelings are running rampart, you may not
think the winners are deserving, and you know in your heart you were the
better choice.
You're hurt and discouraged;
rejection and failure overcome you, your emotions are raw. You feel like
crying and the last thing you want to do is look into the smiling faces
of those that made it. But you also don't want to come off as a sore loser.
So, if you find yourself in this situation and know you can't handle it
appropriately - get away. Find some time to be by yourself or with friends
and family you know will understand. Sort through your feelings and congratulate
the winners at a time when you can be more sincere.
It is important to remember
everyone can't win and there are usually more people that don't make it
than those that do. If Cheerleading is truly your dream, move on to the
next tryout. Continue to practice, learn new skills, build your confidence
and become more prepared for the next time. I've known Cheerleaders that
have tried out five times before making it on a squad, so don't give up.
Keep a smile on your face and move on.
Recently Breanna had
her high school tryouts and didn't make it. Read her story.
