Meet One of Football's Fabulous Females

The Interview Continued

Cheerleading Guide: What advice would you give to young people wanting to try-out for a Cheerleading position?
Rolleen: A. GET NOTICED!!! LEARN!!! KEEP TRYING!!! Pay attention to your dance skills, and your speaking skills "for public appearances". You will need to be fit and strong mentally and physically because you will be under a lot of pressure so endurance is very important.

Cheerleading Guide: Has Cheerleading helped shape your life in any way, if so, how?
Rolleen: It has put me in the public's eye giving me the opportunity to perform, teaching me humility, self-discipline and commitment to a team. As a Dance Instructor I pass these valuable experiences on to my students and hope to help shape their lives.

Cheerleading Guide: This is your fifth year as a Raiderette, how many more years do you hope to continue being a Pro Cheerleader?
Rolleen: This is my 8th year total. Three years with the 49er's (including Super Bowl XXIX) and five years with the Oakland Raiderettes. I have no idea how much longer I will continue being a Pro Cheerleader. I think I would miss it desperately and I could not vision doing this for any other team than the Raiders. My goal is to be a Dance/Cheer Choreographer for the NFL.
