Bramble Berry Soap Making Supplies shared this recipe with me and I thought it would make a great idea for a squad or team project. With a little imagination you change it up to fit your needs. Try using trinkets that match your school's mascot or even color the soap in your school or team's colors.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 30-40 Minutes
Here's How:
- Select your trinkets to make sure they are the right size for gentle exfoliation. Sharp objects may be too abrasive on the skin.
- Cut the 'melt and pour' soap into 1 x 1" cubes.
- Using your microwave, heat the soap in 30-second increments until the soap is fully melted.
- Add .25 ounces to .50 ounces of essential oil or fragrance.
- Mix in your color.
- If you are using a cookie cutter, then make sure to place plastic wrap underneath.
- Place trinket on bottom of mold.
- Pour your scented and colored soap into the mold so that the trinket is submerged.
- Do one finishing spritz of rubbing alcohol to finish off your soap and give it a nice smooth surface.
- Wait for the soap to harden, pop or unwrap the soap out of the mold, wrap soap with saran wrap, label and enjoy the compliments you get.
Tips:
- Don't fill your make-shift soap mold all the way up. It helps for easy release to fill 85% of the way to the top and not the entire way.
- If you use a yellow or orange colored fragrance, your soap base will look less clear and look more yellow/orange.
- Be adventurous with your fragrance. Try something fun like pink grapefruit or strawberry.
