Is Your Squad Planning to Trick or Treat Together?

Halloween is a perfect time for Cheerleaders to plan some fundraising events and in the process do some team bonding. Your squad can go out trick or treating together and raise money for a charity; you can host a haunted house or have a spooky movie slumber party. The ideas are endless. But regardless of what you decide to do, remember to follow these simple Halloween safety tips.

  • Cheerleading - Well, you probably have this outfit handy, so why not use it?
  • Football Team - Dress the squad as a football players. Wear jerseys, helmets, darken under your eyes and carry footballs.
  • Basketball Team -Wear shorts, jerseys, tennis shoes and carry basketballs.
  • Pair Up - If you have an even number of squad members, pair them up and do things like:
    • Cat and Dog
    • Devil and Angel
    • Mickey and Minnie Mouse
    • Barbie and Ken
    • Batman and Robin
    • Policeman and Prisoner
    • Doctor and Nurse or patient
    • Bride and Groom

  • Sponsor a haunted house - You can use a garage, a community center, church activity building or a gym. Set up different areas with props or themes. Charge an admission fee. Get the word out with flyers and announcements.
  • Halloween Carnival - Use a relatively large area like a gym. Offer face painting, apple bobbing, Halloween games and other things to entertain younger children. Stress safety. Charge an admission fee.
  • Sleep in - Hold a Halloween sleep in. Find a large location to use. Show spooky movies. Play games, have food and drinks and everyone spends the night. Charge a small fee.
