Although people might think of this a superficial thing, in cheerleading, it's an important factor, because when you can get people to look at you, it means they will listen to your cheers and become involved in the spirit you're trying to portray.
If you're like most cheerleaders, then you're probably short on funds and extra money is hard to come by when you want to look good and pamper yourself. The solution to this situation can be in your fridge, pantry or kitchen if you consider using homemade beauty products. The advantages of these recipes are that you know what's in them and you can make as little or a much as you'd like. So, whether it's a night in alone or a slumber party with the squad, you can whip up some self indulgence with these awesome recipes. Fruit Flavored Lip Gloss
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of solid shortening, preferably not butter flavored.
1 Tablespoon of powdered drink mix, fruit-flavored.
1 plastic container with a lid. Needs to be cleaned well and dry.
Mix the shortening and drink mix in a microwave safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Place the bowl in the microwave on medium for about 30 seconds or until mixture it becomes liquid. Watch closely and remove carefully. Let stand until cool, but not solid. Then pour into your clean plastic container and put in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until solid.
Citrus Yogurt Mask
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of plain yogurt; not flavored
the juice of one-quarter of an orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit
Mix the ingredients together well and then smooth on your face. Keep away from your eyes, nostrils and mouth. Leave on for about 5 minutes and then wash off. Your face should have a cool sensation. This mask is good to revitalize you.
Strawberry Hand and Foot Scrub
Ingredients:
8-10 Strawberries, mashed
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of Kosher or Sea salt
Mix all the ingredients together and then massage into your hands and/or feet. Let sit for a few minutes, then rinse and pat dry. This is a prefect way to unwind after a hard practice, competition or after cheering at a game.
Natural Hair Shine
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of white vinegar
2 whole eggs
Crack, beat and mix the eggs together thoroughly. Then, massage them into your hair for about 5 minutes. You want to make sure that all of your hair is covered from the scalp to the ends. Now, rinse the eggs out with the white vinegar. It's important to note that the vinegar probably will not remove all of the eggs, so you'll want to use a small amount of shampoo.
Mouthwash Hair Rinse and Shine
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of mouthwash any kind but do not use a children's version
1 cup of water
1 clean and dry spray bottle
Mix the ingredients together in the spray bottle and shake it up vigorously. Then spray the mixture on your hair saturating it thoroughly. Now style your hair as usual. Your hair will become shinier as it dries, even if you did not wet it before you styled it.
