My favorite cheerleading jump is...

My favorite jump is the toe touch. It is such a simple jump but it is also a challenge. you have to work on so many different techniques including height, keeping your chest up, rolling your knees back. There is so many things to work on and different aspects to think about, it makes it a hard jump to prefect.

Why I like it...

MY favorite cheerleading jump is the toe touch. Although it seems like a simple enough jump, i find it a very difficult jump to prefect. One would think all you have to do is jump up in the air and touch your toes right, how hard could that be? Well that's what i though when i learned about jumps for the first time. Was I dead wrong! I learned them for cheer try outs at my school i felt like a was doing so so so good until i went home and watched myself in the mirror. Wow was i terrible, i realized my jumps were so low they looked like a star jump (except worse) and my legs were bent and i was just all over the place. unfortunately I didn't make the team. But i did work on my jumps and now they are amazing. Since i have been cheering (four years) i have worked on my jumps more than any thing else and now i would say they are really good but i have never been able to get them as good as i want them, so i will keep working.

Tips & tricks

  • One of the things i found most helpful is to keep your knees rolled to the ceiling and to point your toes. really look at the girl on the right, how her chest is up and her toes are back.
