Forum Post - Why is Tumbling in Cheerleading?

Friday January 13, 2006
Cheerdiva06 writes, "I've always wondered why there is so much of an emphasis on tumbling in cheerleading? To be honest with you I think it's point-less. Reason being is that I've cheered football, competition and basketball. When I was cheering in games a few girls would tumble and not one person from the crowd would pay attention to the girls. Even at pep-rallies, the same thing happens there too. When people are looking at you at those events are when you are performing a stunt."

"Where I'm going with this is that I want to take my cheer experience to the next level, the collegiate level. And the college I'm particularly looking at doesn't even compete but would like their applicants to have a back-handspring-tuck. I honestly think it's ridiculous."
