Deadly Dance Team

Thursday November 13, 2008
Members of an El Paso high school dance team baked their rival team some brownies and cupcakes. The problem is they laced the goodies with rat poison, laxatives, Clorax and other household products. The plan was to present the sweets at a football game on Friday night, but the students were stopped and the food confiscated. The parents of the intended victims are considering pressing charges. The El Paso Independent School District released a statement stating that they are taking the situation very seriously. How do you think the dancers should be punished? Leave a comment below.

This is an attempt to seriously injure a group of kids and it obviously calls for very serious disciplinary measures. We can only hope they didn’t understand the potential consequenses of poisoning people. This should be reported to the local authorities, I would expect community service and mandatory education would be one recourse. Plus I would expect they would be dismissed from their team or be banned from competing.

I think that is rediculous. I can’t believe someone would actually do something like that.

That’s horrid. They should be treated like adults and tried as such. They could have caused some serious damage or killed someone! Community service and education shouldn’t be considered, jail, however, sounds fair. Or at least a giant fine AND a criminal record. That’s attempted murder, manslaughter, I don’t care what you call it! It’s wrong, and they shouldn’t just get a slap on the hand.

As a cheerleader/dancer myself I would be very upset. Those girls could have killed that team just because of they dislike that school. Every school has a team they despise but no one should sink that low to try to poison a team like that. Personally I would press charges on those girls. Ruin their lives like they almost ruined the other teams. I don’t think they understood the full extent of their actions and what could have happened if the other girls ate those goods.

They should absolutely be punished as adults! This is a crime and these “children” need to understand the severity of their actions.

well the whole squad should get a very big consequence that was not right of them doing that to their rival team they totally went overboard what they should do apologize to their rivals as much as they don’t want to still aplogize because if their rivals ate their goodies they could have gotten really sick and maybe even have died shame on that dance team i would be so embarrassed if i was in that school of the dance team who comitted that.

These children represent the entire community when they perform, therefore they should be banned from that PRIVILEGE for the remainder of their academic period within the district.
They should also have court ordered counseling, so that they fully comprehend the severity of their actions.

Pressing charges may be a bit harsh and a waste of tax payers money since I am sure the jury will consider that they really had no idea out of ignorance, what damages could have been done.
