What do you think are the most common first names for female Cheerleaders? Do you think they follow the pattern of the U.S. census? Or perhaps, if you believe the stereotypes about Cheerleaders, you're thinking "I know, I know...Bambi, Candi, Amber and Tiffany have to be on the list." Well they're not.
Recently we conducted an unofficial survey to find the answers and below you can see the results.
How We Did It
During the last month or so, we asked you to post in the About Cheerleading forum your name and the names of any Cheerleaders you knew. Your response was tremendous and we had over 600 names posted.
Then, after gathering the data and combining variations of spellings (Britany, Brittany, Megan, Meghan and so on), we separated the names into a list. This list became our unofficial results.
Surprisingly, only one name appears on the U.S. Census list and our list. And that name is Jennifer.
Also, some names were very close, these included Amanda, Nicole, Lauren, Megan, Kate and Kristin (6th through 10th place) all of which were separated by only one or two points. And Abby, Olivia and Valerie all tied for last place on our list.

As you can see Cheerleaders names don't necessarily follow the population pattern. Does this mean if your name is on our list you'll be a Cheerleader? We don't think so, but chances are if you have a large squad, you'll find someone on it with one of these names.
