Spend as much as you want.
Buy something on sale and cheaper.
Find something in the right price range.
Not get anything for anyone and make up some sad story about it.

4. You've overheard what a friend is getting you for Christmas. You already have one. What would you do?

Tell her/him you heard and that you have one.
Say nothing and accept it gracefully.
Tell someone else to tell her/him that you already have one.
Accept the gift and blurt out "I have one of these".
