Universal Pictures will soon release straight to video Bring It On Again. The movie is a sequel to the Summer 2000 sleeper Cheerleading hit Bring It Onand although it won't feature any of the original cast, it does look promising from a Cheerleading perspective.

The plot for Bring It On Againpits two college Cheerleading squads against each other in an exciting super cheer-off. The gym is packed with students as the squads compete to see who will go to Nationals. One of the squads, The Renegades, is an offshoot of the State University's champion varsity Cheerleading squad.

The Renegades are formed when two freshmen Cheerleaders (Whittier and Monica) butt heads with the State University's head Cheerleader (Tina). Torn between loyalty to her friends and her desire to be head Cheerleader, Whittier decides to break tradition and start her own squad; thus the Renegades are born and a fierce competition between the squads begins.

Filmed on location at Cal State in Northridge, California the film features five major dance sequences choreographed by Tony Gonzalez, a professional cheerleading squad coach. Prior to filming the four lead actresses, who didn't have any previous Cheerleader experience, spent three weeks at a professional cheer camp learning toe touches and stunts. Anne Judson-Yager explained her experience this way in an article written by Jennifer Netherby of Video Premiere Awards: “Dancing is a whole other world, a whole other language than anything, and cheerleading is even more of a different language; it’s a different dictionary.”

To sum up the movie, Louis Feola, head of Universal Pictures’ made-for-video operations said in an interview with Thomas K. Arnold of Hive4media.com, "The first film was primarily about cheerleading, a very sweet story about people being challenged and rising to the occasion, and that’s what we captured in Bring It On Again as well.”

If the movie is all it's said to be, its release in the Spring of 2003 will have Cheerleaders shouting, "Gimme an "A" for Bring It On Again.
